Tour Overview

Take the 10am ferry from Auckland and enjoy a 35 minute cruise across the Hauraki Gulf to Waiheke Island, where your guide will meet you on arrival at Matiatia. This small group tour, with a maximum of 11 people, focuses on local food and drink and includes lunch.

From Matiatia, the day begins with a scenic coastal drive to Casita Miro Vineyards. Here, you will taste five local gold medal wines paired with food in a Spanish inspired setting. The tour then continues to Allpress Olive Grove for a tasting of oils, spreads and olives, offering a different side of Waiheke’s local produce.

Lunch is served at Batch Winery, an award winning restaurant set within one of the island’s notable landscapes. This stop gives you time to sit down and enjoy a meal before the final tasting of the day.

At The Heke, you can choose to sample craft beers or spirits, including their own whiskey and gin. Afterward, the tour returns by way of a sightseeing drive back to Matiatia Bay, timed for your ferry back to Auckland.

This Waiheke Island tasting tour is designed for travellers who want a relaxed day of wine, food, olive products, beer or spirits, with transport on the island arranged. The tour operates with a minimum of four people.

Pickup details

Catch 10am Fullers Walk-Up ferry from Auckland to Waiheke - make sure you are at least 30min early in time to board the ferry. Pick up will be at 10:40 at Matiatia Wharf. Look for your name on our BLACK welcome board or wait at the I-SITE booth inside the terminal.
