We do not currently run user accounts, newsletters, comments, or payment processing, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

3. How we use and share your information

We use personal information only for the purposes listed above. We do not sell or rent your data. Information is shared only:

  • with our website hosting and email service providers, solely to operate the site;
  • when required by New Zealand law or to enforce our legal rights; or
  • with your consent.

All providers we use must meet reasonable security standards and cannot use your data for their own marketing.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Our site uses first-party cookies for basic analytics and to remember user preferences. In addition, when you click a tour link that redirects to Viator.com, Viator places an affiliate tracking cookie so any booking you make within that window can be attributed to Auckland.kiwi. These cookies do not reveal your identity to us. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some functionality may be affected.

Auckland.kiwi features tours provided through Viator. When you follow those links you leave our domain; any personal information you provide to Viator is governed by Viator’s own privacy policy and terms. We encourage you to read those policies before booking.

6. Storage, security and retention

Personal information is stored on secure servers located in New Zealand and/or Australia administered by our hosting provider. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures—including HTTPS, server hardening, and access controls—to protect data from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.

We retain enquiry emails and server logs only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined or to meet legal obligations, after which they are securely deleted.

7. Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020

You have the right to:

  1. Access the personal information we hold about you; and
  2. Request correction of that information if you believe it is inaccurate or incomplete.

To exercise these rights, or if you have any privacy question or complaint, please contact us (section 9). We will respond within 20 working days as required by law.

8. International visitors (GDPR note)

While we are a New Zealand site, overseas visitors—especially from the EEA or UK—may enjoy equivalent rights under the GDPR. We rely on your consent (clicking affiliate links) or our legitimate interest (site analytics and security) as the legal basis for any processing of EU/UK personal data.

9. How to contact us

For any privacy enquiry, please submit a message via our secure contact form at https://www.auckland.kiwi/contact. Messages sent through this form are routed directly to our support team and we will aim to respond as soon as possible.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal obligations. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of Auckland.kiwi after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By using this site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
