Tour Overview

See three North Island highlights in one day on this guided small-group trip from Auckland. After CBD or airport pickup, travel south with a short coffee stop at Ruakura before arriving in the Rotorua region. Time your morning to see the Lady Knox Geyser eruption, then explore Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland along boardwalks past the Champagne Pool, bubbling mud pools, Artist’s Palette, and Devil’s Bath. Lunch is available at the Wai-O-Tapu café (own cost).

In the afternoon, stretch your legs beneath towering trees in Rotorua’s Redwood Forest, with the option to add the Redwoods Treewalk (own cost). Continue to the Blue Spring at Putāruru for a scenic riverside walk and photo stops at the crystal-clear water that supplies much of New Zealand’s bottled water. On the return to Auckland, pause in Tirau to see its famous corrugated-iron sculptures.

    Auckland

    Morning Pick-Up from SkyCity Hotel Auckland CBD: 5:45am onward, Sharp 6:00am we will start the tour. Kindly be on time on or before time to avoid disappointments. It will take approximately about 15 minutes to complete the pickups. Departure 6:00 am Travel: Auckland to Tirau Approximately (2hrs drive covering 175kms) via SH 1. From Tirau to Wai-O-Tapu 1 hour 30 Minutes drive.

    Wai-O-Tapu

    The Mud Pool at Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, near Rotorua, is one of New Zealand's most active geothermal features.
