Tour Overview

Explore Auckland like never before on this intimate electric bike tour, ideal for small groups with no more than six travelers. Feel the ease and excitement as you pedal through New Zealand's largest city, guided by an expert who knows every nook and cranny.

Starting with the historic Auckland Harbour Bridge, learn about its construction and integral role in the city's development while cycling along safe and scenic cycleways. The bridge not only connects parts of the city but also offers a narrative of Auckland's past and aspirations for its infrastructure.

As you move towards the waterfront, the narrative deepens at the venue for the 2021 America’s Cup. Here, the air buzzes with tales of sailing triumphs and the area's transformation into a bustling hub for locals and visitors alike. The tour then takes a leisurely route to Westhaven, the largest marina in the Southern Hemisphere. This spot provides an exceptional vantage point for appreciating why Auckland is affectionately known as 'The City of Sails'.

Further enhancing your ride, the tour includes a climb to the summit of Mt Eden, Auckland’s highest natural point. From atop, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the cityscape, an ideal spot for orienting yourself with the city's layout and natural landmarks.

This carefully crafted tour not only promises a day of exploration but also provides insightful commentary on each landmark’s historical and cultural significance, ensuring a meaningful experience as you cycle through Auckland’s vibrant heart.

  • Whilst experience riding an electric bike is not necessary (we'll provide an orientation and we'll do a test ride to make sure you're comfortable before we head off), you must of course be able to ride a bike! If you haven't ridden in a while, for your enjoyment/safety and that of your fellow riders, we strongly recommend you have a practice riding at home before your visit to Auckland. As well as riding on our wonderful cycleways, we will of course be riding in the road at times (to get to the good places!). Riding in traffic is a dynamic environment, so you will need to be comfortable riding in the road in order to enjoy the tour. And Auckland's volcanic past means that there a quite few hills to go up and down - the eBikes make going up easy, but you'll obviously need to be able to ride downhill! If you’d prefer a shorter, easier ride along Auckland’s beautiful waterfront - check out The Easy Rider, one of our other tour listings!
