Tour Overview

Embark on a serene evening adventure with our Sunset Sea Kayak Tour to Rangitoto Island, where the calm waters of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour pave the way to the base of Auckland’s largest volcano. This tour offers more than just a paddle; it's a journey through the city's natural gateway, culminating in a panoramic sunset from the summit of Rangitoto.

Upon reaching Rangitoto Wharf, your guide will lead you on a leisurely one-hour trek to the summit. As you ascend, the path unfolds through pohutukawa forests and lava fields, offering a glimpse into the volcanic history and unique ecology of this iconic island. At the top, the reward is a spectacular view of the sun dipping below the horizon, casting vibrant hues across the sky and reflecting off the Auckland skyline and distant Waitakere Ranges.

The return journey is equally mesmerizing, as you paddle back under a canopy of stars, with the city lights twinkling in the distance, mimicking the starry sky above. The contrasting darkness of the sea and the illuminated city creates a tranquil yet exhilarating experience.

This tour is fully catered, featuring a healthy kiwi BBQ to enjoy as the evening unfolds. All kayaking gear is provided, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience as you navigate the calm evening waters. Whether you're a seasoned kayaker or a first-timer, this tour offers a unique way to see Auckland from a different perspective.
