Tour Overview

Embark on a scenic journey through Auckland's lush wine regions with a half-day tour designed to tantalize the senses and deepen your appreciation for New Zealand's winemaking heritage. Starting from Auckland, your route winds through the picturesque landscapes of Waimauku, Kumeu, and Huapai, regions renowned for their contributions to viticulture.

Your first stop is Soljans Estate, a testament to family heritage and winemaking excellence since 1937. Here, you will explore an array of wines that showcase the rich diversity of New Zealand's terroirs. Taste the estate's celebrated Chardonnay and Pinot Gris or delve into the complex flavors of their Tawny Ports, each sip revealing stories of tradition and craftsmanship passed down through five generations.

As the tour continues, you'll be captivated by the dramatic coastline of Muriwai, where the stark black sands form a striking contrast against the blue Tasman Sea. This area is not just a feast for the eyes but also a vital habitat for gannets. Depending on the season, you may observe these fascinating birds courting, nesting, or preparing for migration from the dedicated lookouts, adding a unique natural history element to your visit.

The experience concludes with a visit to West Brook Wines in the tranquil Waimauku Valley. Established in 1935, this family-owned winery invites you to enjoy a cellar door tasting of their award-winning wines. Sample a selection of varietals, from robust Malbec to delicate Riesling, each reflecting the unique climate and soil of their estates.

This tour offers not only a glimpse into the art of wine but also immerses you in the stunning natural and cultural landscapes that define Auckland's wine country. Whether you are a connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, the journey through Auckland's wineries promises a rich blend of flavors and vistas.
