Tour Overview

Embark on a unique 45-minute journey aboard New Zealand's only glass-bottom catamaran, where the pristine waters of the nation's first Marine Reserve unfold beneath you. This educational tour offers a rare glimpse into a thriving underwater world, constantly refreshed by the open ocean, ensuring no two trips are ever the same.

As you glide over the clear waters, observe a vibrant tableau of marine life through the panoramic views provided by the catamaran's transparent hull. The reserve is home to a diverse array of species, from the sleek contours of giant snapper and the vivid hues of blue maomao to the graceful drift of eagle rays and the occasional thrill of spotting dolphins or even orcas.

The highlight of the tour is the exploration of secluded marine caves at the back of Goat Island, areas few have the privilege to see. Accessible only by boat, these caves, including the renowned "Key Hole",offer a dramatic backdrop to the teeming life underwater. The natural acoustics of these caves amplify the sounds of the ocean, creating a serene auditory experience to accompany the visual splendor.

This tour not only showcases the beauty and diversity of the marine ecosystem but does so with a commitment to conservation and education, providing insights into the ecological significance of marine reserves. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this glass-bottom boat tour offers a window into the aquatic wonders of New Zealand.
