Tour Overview

Embark on a sea kayaking adventure across the glistening Waitemata Harbour, where the waters mirror the sky and you might spot the elusive Little Blue Penguins or Cook's Petrels. This tour offers a seamless blend of exhilarating activity and natural exploration, starting with a paddle from the bustling heart of Auckland to the tranquil shores of Rangitoto Island.

Rangitoto stands as both the youngest and the largest of Auckland's volcanic field, a geological marvel that promises a unique trekking experience. The ascent begins at the island's wharf, with each step through the lush pohutukawa trees and over rugged scoria rocks revealing the island’s vibrant ecological tapestry, housing over 200 species of native flora. The trek to the summit is not just a physical journey but an educational one, as you uncover the volcanic and cultural history of this iconic landmark.

Reaching the summit rewards you with a panoramic spectacle of the Auckland region; from this vantage point, the cityscape, the sprawling Waitakere Ranges, and the vast blue horizon merge in a breathtaking display. The journey concludes at the water's edge, where a Kiwi-style BBQ awaits, offering a taste of local cuisine in the glow of a setting sun.

This tour is expertly guided by seasoned kayakers with deep roots in conservation and an intimate knowledge of the region's weather and waters. Their guidance ensures a safe and enriching experience, connecting you with the natural beauty and intriguing history of Auckland's volcanic landscape.
