Tour Overview

Embark on a day-long exploration of New Zealand's foundational history with a tour from Auckland to the iconic Bay of Islands. This journey not only promises breathtaking coastal views but also delves into the rich tapestry of the nation's past.

Your tour begins with a convenient pickup from selected Auckland CBD locations, ensuring a smooth start to your adventure. As we travel northward, a brief stop allows you to enjoy a coffee and stretch your legs before we continue to our primary destination.

The centerpiece of the tour is the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, a site of immense historical significance and beauty. Here, you can explore the well-preserved estate, which includes museums that offer a dynamic and immersive insight into the events that shaped New Zealand. The grounds also feature a carving studio, where traditional Māori artistry comes to life. One of the highlights is the powerful Māori cultural performances that resonate with the stories of the past.

Next, we board the Fullers ferry for a short trip to Russell. This quaint town was the first capital of New Zealand and remains steeped in both Māori and European histories. A one-hour coach tour provides a comprehensive overview of historical landmarks such as Pompallier House and Christ-Church. From the vantage point of Flagstaff Hill, the panoramic views of the Bay of Islands are truly spectacular.

As the day winds down, we return to Paihia and then head back to Auckland. This tour offers a blend of scenic beauty, cultural immersion, and historical education, perfect for anyone keen to experience the heart and soul of the Bay of Islands.
