Small group guided day trip through Auckland via Te Toka O Apihai Te Kawau, Bastion Point, Auckland Domain and Mt Eden, ending at the Sky Tower.

Tour Overview

See Auckland through its waterfront, volcanic landscapes, and historic neighbourhoods on this small group guided day trip. The tour begins at Te Toka O Apihai Te Kawau on Auckland’s waterfront, where the story of the city’s beginnings is introduced, then follows Tamaki Drive toward the coast.

At Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park at Bastion Point, you will stop at one of Auckland’s best-known memorial sites before continuing past Mission Bay. The route then reaches Achilles Point, with elevated views across the Waitemata Harbour to Rangitoto, the largest and most recent of the 48 volcanic cones in the Auckland region.

From the coast, the tour heads through Parnell to Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest and largest park, home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum, tropical gardens, and ponds. You will then travel through Newmarket on the way to Mt Eden, the largest onshore volcanic cone and the highest natural point in the city, where a walk to the summit makes the most of the views.

The day returns to central Auckland along Karangahape Road and Queen Street, finishing beneath the Sky Tower. Travel is by modern minibus, with a fully guided experience focused on Auckland’s landmarks, culturally significant sites, and scenic viewpoints.
