Tour Overview

Begin your exploration of New Zealand with a scenic drive out of Auckland, where your guide will introduce some of the city's major highlights. As you leave the urban landscape behind, the route takes you south through the verdant Waikato countryside, renowned for its extensive farming and picturesque vistas of rivers and mountains. A brief coffee break in this lush setting provides a perfect pause before continuing on to Rotorua.

En route to Rotorua, a stop in the quirky town of Tirau offers a unique glimpse into local creativity, showcased through its distinctive corrugated iron sculptures. This town provides not only a visual treat but also a light-hearted addition to your journey.

The core of your tour unfolds at Te Puia, where the rich tapestry of Maori culture and the dramatic geothermal landscape coalesce. Here, you will experience the might of the Pōhutu Geyser and explore various geothermal features that define this spectacular area. The tour includes a visit to the National Māori Arts School and a chance to see traditional Māori architecture up close. Enhance your visit with a Maori cultural performance followed by a traditional Hangi buffet lunch, offering both a cultural feast and culinary delight.

Before departing Rotorua, take a guided drive around key city landmarks including Lake Rotorua and the Government Gardens. Each site contributes to the narrative of Rotorua’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

As your day concludes, the journey back to Auckland includes a few secret stops, carefully chosen to enrich your experience of New Zealand’s stunning landscapes and deep-rooted culture.
